July was a pretty terrible month but now it's over and I'm ready to write it up and move on! Here's a summary of art stuff I worked on, starting with a peek of the annual Studio Club exhibition. It ran 1st-22nd July at Old Gala House.

As a birthday gift for myself I did a big 56x76 cm painting to put up in my bedroom. It's of Papa Emeritus IV from the band Ghost, watercolour and mixed media and it has a lot of shiny metallic bits!

I've been starting painting sessions with two little watercolour sketchbooks. In one I do two minute landscapes, in the other I spend two minutes messing around with whatever colours I'm craving. It's a nice quick warm up, I'll upload the sketchbooks when they're done but here's a peek.

While tidying (I know!) I found an A4 watercolour sketchbook that I'd forgotten about so I'm working back in it, mostly floral stuff and using paint palettes that I've been neglecting. Here's a peek:

While helping steward the exhibition I finished my sofa sketchbook which I started literally three years ago! I've photographed the whole thing so click on the cover to go on a full tour.

I'm also working in a A3 sketchbook to continue my mixed media acrylic and watercolour nonsense. I'll upload it when it's complete etc etc but here's a sample:
