July 2024 Journal Update

And that's July done! I had a bit of work up at Old Gala House with the Studio Club and at WASPS Patriot Hall with Neuk Collective. One of my Sellisternian paintings is also now up until October, if you're around Peebles.

On to the work that I made this month, starting with the newest round of mini landscapes. Click the collage of them below to go and see the full July line-up.

I made this floral piece for a birthday present and as a present to myself I used some gold leaf! Very messy, very shiny, ten out of ten will use again.

Here's another addition to my gallery of A3 faces and I'm feeling summer so she's ginger!

It was my birthday this month! So I added another self portrait to my Threadbare series. The spiny shapes are inspired by shells so you could think of it as The Little Mermaid if she was a Xenomorph. Thirty-Five, still alive!

My Beechmore A4 sketchbook is now finished and full of mixed media experimentations and shenanigans. Click the image below to go see it in it's full glory.

I also finished the last six pages of my Gecko A3 mixed media sketchbook so click the composite to go and enjoy the whole thing.

While I was stewarding for the Studio Club exhibition I started a new small, square sketchbook to finally work out how I want to do interior settings. Still no clue but there are still plenty pages left to find out! Click the collage to go see what I have so far.

I then started a new sketchbook for messing around with watercolour because I missed that! It's an A4 Fox & Willow, click the image to go see the gallery where I'll be uploading it as it goes.

Alright, I'm off to spend the last scraps of July rewatching Empire because it's been a tiring month and I'd like to switch my brain off and watch Cookie Lyon bully idiots for six seasons. I'll be back at the end of August with another update and I'll link it below once it's up.
